Kingsport, TN With Our Son's Family
We have spent the last four days at Warrior's Path State Park in Kingsport. We enjoyed touring Abingdon, VA, a quaint city with lots of history just north of Kingsport with Mark, Christy and Ethan. Next time you are traveling on I-81 near the VA-TN border, it will be worth your time to stop for lunch or an overnight in Abingdon. Consider staying at the famous old Martha Washington Inn, t
he most beautiful building in the city.
The weather was perfect during our entire stay in Kingsport, and Warrior's Path Campground was as lovely as ever. It has many shaded sites, a gorgeous lake, high quality roads, 50 amp service, nostalgic train sounds in the distance, and the state offers a generous military discount. The dogwoods were
in full bloom. The first night in town, Christy prepared a delicious dinner at home. It was fun seeing several pieces of our former Virginia furniture utilized in such creative ways in their
house. Five-year old Ethan stayed with us two nights at the park; he has always loved the Airstream. He even helped fold laundry and carried trash to the dumpster. We got to see one of his T-ball practices, and we taught him how to play bocce ball. In the evenings Mark and Christy joined us for campfire yarns, hotdogs and smores.
