Our First Christmas In Texas

We have really enjoyed our first Christmas in our new Hillsboro, TX home. Our North TX Airstream Community (NTAC) had many socials plus the annual Ladies Tea. The latter is a big deal, as we invite ladies from the surrounding areas. Gloria greatly enjoyed the fellowship and entertainment by our own musicians. Jerry was drafted to help park the guests; one lady tried to run over him. She was obviously not cognizant of the old Army "stop signal" which consists of clasped hands over the head of the parker. Another guest was upset because it was windy, and she wanted to park closer to the clubhouse to preserve her fresh hairdo. However, most of the guests were delighted to be invited and loved being escorted from the parking lot by our golf cart enthusiasts. December is also the month for our annual board meeting, election of officers, and catered dinner. Jim Haddaway, former International President, WBBCI, is our new president. He is shown here with wife, Janie.

Our church and Sunday school also celebrated in many different ways. One of the highpoints was the Christmas cantata. We were genuinely surprised with the quality of the program and wonderful talents of our soloists. All of the services and socials helped remind us of the real purpose of Christmas--to remember and rejoice in the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ.
